First of all because he is Asian (lol), he is only 18, and he plays the violin so so beautifully. I love classical music, more so if it's a violin concerto. But this kid takes violin-playing to an entirely new level. He plays in big orchestras alright, but his pop covers of famous songs make even the uninitiated fall in love with the instrument and the sound it makes. And yeah it adds that his violin's name is Debby, my beautiful dog's name.
The instrument takes years to master because it is fretless, which means you've got to move your fingertips at exactly the right spot to bring out the correct note. On top of that one needs to master the use of the bow, letting it kiss at just the right angle and intensity on the strings. But this boy's playing is just effortless. This is awesomeness on YouTube!
